Will Climategate kill alarmism?

When Science gets bossy
Untitled document "If science wants to redeem itself and regain its place with the public’s affection, scientists need to come out every time some politician says, “The science says we must…” and reply, “Science only tells us what is. It does not, and can never tell us what we should or must do.” "

Warming alarmism dead?
Untitled document ". . . the investigations will be among the final nails in the coffin for the global warming alarmist movement . . .

Most likely, this was the tipping point. Global warming zealots have lost. It's only a matter of time until they realize it and move on to a new contrived catastrophe, where doubtless they'll be warmly received by a compliant press and amply rewarded with more tax-subsidized grants. It seems there are insatiable appetites and never-ending tax dollars for the proper causes." --Orange County Register

Climategate Reviews Reviewed
Untitled document

Any doubt why two universities cleared its Climategate scientists? "Readers of both earlier reports need to know that both institutions receive tens of millions in federal global warming research funding."

Wonder why thenews is all alarmist? "Roy Spencer of the University of Alabama, Huntsville, has noted that it's becoming nearly impossible to publish anything on global warming that's nonalarmist in peer-reviewed journals." Because of pressure unveiled in the Climategate emails.

Curious as to why the latest panel exonerated the CRU scientists? "That's because they only interviewed CRU people, not the people whom they had trashed."

Climategate and the Climate Wars
Untitled document Climategate a "Game Changer." Critics say the emails reveal evasion of freedom of information law, secret deals done during the writing of reports for the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a cover-up of uncertainties in key research findings and the misuse of scientific peer review to silence critics.

Green in Spain = "Disaster"
Untitled document

"Spain admits that the green energy as sold to Obama is a disaster"

That headline is from a Spanish newspaper, folks, not Fox News, not the editor of RM. Report: "admits the ominous economic consequences of betting in favor of renewable energies"

Excerpt:

"The owners of solar plants make 12 times more than what they pay for the energy coming from fossil fuel combustion. The majority are subsidies charged to the consumer.

The conclusion is that with the economy at the point of bankruptcy, it is not possible to keep injecting money in such a costly sector. And the government seems to realize this now."

The Data Benders

Untitled document

Anthony G. Martin, Examiner.com

Three months after the shocking revelation came to light that top climate scientists had manipulated data to arrive at their erroneous conclusions concerning 'man-made global warming,' the media in the United States has still yet to report a single word about the scandal.

Newspapers in the U.K., however, have been all over the story, engaging in relentless investigative journalism that once could be found on this side of the pond.  And now that those papers have essentially blown to bits the theory of man-made global warming, one Canadian newspaper proclaimed today the following headline--'The Great Global Warming Collapse.'

The writer provides the following telling quote:

“The global warming movement as we have known it is dead,” the brilliant analyst Walter Russell Mead says in his blog on The American Interest. It was done in by a combination of bad science and bad politics.

Not only has it been discovered that some climate scientists cooked the books to promote a personal political agenda but it is safe to say that it has also been discovered the motivation behind the scandal.  As the article cited above reports, it's all about grants:

Mr. Pachauri's own Energy and Resources Unit, based in New Delhi, has collected millions in grants to study the effects of glacial melting – all on the strength of that bogus glacier claim, which happens to have been endorsed by the same scientist who now runs the unit that got the money. Even so, the IPCC chief is hanging tough. He insists the attacks on him are being orchestrated by companies facing lower profits.

Mr. Pachauri, of course, is the head of the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Further, writing in Front Page Magazine Dr. Walter E. Williams, professor of economics at George Mason University, quotes the founder of The Weather Channel, John Coleman, as saying that not only did certain climate scientists and the IPCC manipulate data on the weather, but so did the National Climate Data Center, which is part of the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Coleman exposes the shocking fraud in a five-part documentary on this latest revelation concerning the scandal.  Dr. Williams states,

The Coleman documentary presents research by computer expert E. Michael Smith and Certified Consulting Meteorologist Joseph D’Aleo. During the 1960s and into the 1980s, the number of stations used for calculating global surface temperatures was about 6,000. By 1990, the number of stations dropped rapidly to about 1,500. Most of the stations lost were in the colder regions of the Earth. Not adjusting for their lost made temperatures appear to be higher than was in fact the case. According to Science & Environmental Policy Project, Russia reported that CRU was ignoring data from colder regions of Russia, even though these stations were still reporting data. That means data loss was not simply the result of station closings but deliberate decisions by CRU to ignore them in order to hype their global warming claims. D’Aleo and Smith report that our NCDC engaged in similar deceptive activity where they have dropped stations, particularly in colder climates, higher elevations or closer to the polar regions. Temperatures are now simply projected for these colder stations from other stations, usually in warmer climates.

Thus, no data was received from colder climates.  The effect was a drastically skewed picture of average global temperatures due to lack of data from cold regions and an overabundance of data from warmer regions.

Dr. Williams also ventures the irrefutable observation that the motive for perpetrating such fraud is the 'trillions of dollars and social control that is at stake' for the vested political and economic interests.

It's all about the money and the social control.
